Anthony Travalgia: Tavares to Toronto makes Atlantic division more difficult for Bruins With John Tavares signing in Toronto, things in the Atlantic division have become much more difficult.

Of course it sucks to miss out on Tavares but the only good thing is that it kept the Bruins out of Free Agency. No miss hits like Beleskey.

Halak is a solid signing for a back-up. Moore is long term but AAV is nice. Nordstrom... we will see.

Not really until the playoffs. The Atlantic is a poop show. Tampa, Toronto Boston and maybe Florida are all going to be beating up on Buffalo, Detroit, Montreal and Ottawa. These teams are likely going to be bottom 4 in the league. Where as the Metro will still be super competitive aside from Isles and maybe Canes. Florida themselves might not even be good. It really depends on which Luongo shows up. Only reason they were in the playoff hunt was because of a ridiculous winning streak that is extremely unlikely to happen again.

Can someone explain to me all the hype and love for Bjork? I thought he played like a slug until his injury. Wasn’t impressed at all.

What do you all see in this guy besides the fact he was good in the NCAA???

what else are we supposed to see? he's a talented kid and he just needs to learn the NHL game. like most first year players he's not as polished yet.

With last change, which Leafs line would the Bergeron line go out against now?

I think we will just double shift Patrice and send him against both.

Sounds good. Who plays against the Kadri line?

He played like a fringe 3rd liner last season and everyone seems to think he’s just going to slot into the 1st or 2nd line no problem. I understand it was his first time in the bigs, but if we are just flying through the offseason banking on him being that guy, I definitely have some reservations about this plan.

Bruins third line is a bit of a mystery right now. I think Kuraly is going to have a nice breakout year.

Could be Backes Wagner/Kuraly Heinen though. Who knows. You guys had a better July 1.

Nah. Trade him now so we can see him flourish with another team in a few years and so that gives us a new young player traded away to complain about.

We needed to add Tavares to not blow a lead against you guys in the third again. Another playoff rematch would be cool.

Its July 2nd. Were the Bruins not in on Tavares? Are the Bruins not in on Skinner? Do you not think they are calling about Panarin? How do you even come to the conclusion right now that they are banking on him being a first or second liner? Relax

They certainly need to go in on a top 6 forward. Skinner, Krejci, Debrusk sounds pretty nice.

I’m basing my comment on the opinions of most bruins fans who seem to see something in Bjork that I don’t. I’m also basing my opinion on management banking on him being a top 6 guy due to the fact that they mostly played him in a top 6 role before he got injured.

Plenty relaxed man, just asking what everyone sees in the guy that I’m clearly missing.

Maybe I’m being overly pessimistic, but my mind is tellin me he’s Zach Hamill/Jordan Caron 2.0

Bjork has already played more NHL games than Zach Hamill in his career. Hamill was an 8th overall that turned out horrible. Bjork was the 146th overall that got better in college. Totally different.

Bjork also went straight from college to an NHL roster and was pretty solid until he got hurt. It will be tremendous if he can gel with Patrice and Marchand. So then we can put Pasta with Krejci and Debrusk if they dont make a move.

I know Bjork’s story. Tore it up in the NCAA, late round pick, etc. Totally different in that sense, but the hype around him is much like that of the two names I mentioned.

I’m just skeptical that it’s going to translate to the show. He doesn’t seem to be that fast, doesn’t dazzle with his shot.

Maybe it’s the fact that DeBrusk took such huge strides in his first year that I’ve become less than impressed with Bjork by comparison. Most thought it was going to be the other way around.

In my opinion Bjork was a bit better in the beginning of the year but Debrusk brought it to another level. Have to just hope he can grow his game next year. He has potential. He has a good amount of skill.

Heres to hoping he can pan out. Same with Studnicka. Kid has a good head on his shoulders.

Shenyshen has to show more. He is your Hamill comparison right now. He is the pick that could have been Barzal or Connor.
